Lisa Hagan

LISA HAGAN

Lisa Hagan Books was formed in early 2015 in order to publish and promote important works that were being overlooked by the big four.

With her extensive career as a literary agent working with clients from all over the world for over 20 years, Lisa has seen that there is an audience and a demand for the books that she loves – but is not limited to – genres such as alternative health, paranormal research and extraordinary memoirs.

Her books appear on bestseller lists worldwide and have not only been reported in the front pages of The New York Times; USA Today; The New York Times Book Review; and The Los Angeles Times, but regularly appear in Reader’s Digest Magazine; Huffington Post; Santa Monica Sun; The New York Post; The New York Observer; The New York Sun; Daily Variety; People; Details; Entertainment Weekly; Publisher’s Weekly; Booklist; Kirkus Reviews; and the Library Journal.

As an agent, she is known for anticipating future book trends and has been among the first to successfully create, shape, and develop appropriate projects with scientists, parapsychologists, journalists, researchers, innovative cultural-creatives, and worldwide clients.

Her goal is to create a flourishing Independent publishing house to continue reaching the same wide audience of readers who are seeking the truth, who want to learn, and who want to be entertained.

Crystal Myrick

CRYSTAL MYRICK

Long before joining Lisa Hagan Books as Director of Publicity, Crystal’s love for the written word sparked at an early age. For an assignment, she published her first story in the third grade and left teachers and parents in a stage of amazement and confusion after they read her tale of two homeless children. Two years later, she borrowed her mother’s typewriter to write a letter to her principal to start the school’s inaugural newspaper. Her initiative proved successful and at nine years old, she served as editor-in-chief and led a staff of six fourth- and fifth-graders.

In recent years, she has owned and operated several websites and blogs including an entertainment portal reporting on positive African American news and interviews with emerging and established performers; a dating and relationships advice column; and a pop culture and lifestyle blog, all which garnered media attention.

In March 2017, Crystal organized “The Women of Soul City,” a program that featured a documentary showing and an all-women discussion panel, which highlighted prominent individuals, including Eva Clayton, the first African American congressperson in North Carolina. Impressed with Crystal’s professionalism and public relations prowess, Clayton immediately asked her to join the Media Advisory board for Rural Education Advocacy Day held in Raleigh, NC.

Destined to become a multi-hyphen, she took on a new role: entrepreneur. Through her company, Crystal PR Agency, she represents authors, lifestyle brands, and nonprofit organizations.

Crystal’s unwavering passion for writing continues to shine through her short stories and articles. Her latest, a personal essay titled, “The Unwritten Rule, Rewritten” can be found in Inspirations: Anthology of Warren County, NC.

Even with a heavier workload, Crystal remains active in her community by promoting and attending local events, creating works of art stitch by stitch with the Heritage Quilters, demolishing “the box” while serving on the Warren County Arts Council Board, and working feverishly towards lifting a 300 lbs. squat.
